In the last workshop leading up to Christmas we had a work shop with kitch n sync. This taught me a lot about movement and body.
At the beginning of the workshops we talked about our skills and what we want to go into. She also told us her skills and about the company. We then watched a couple of their clips. I had previously seen a show of theirs which I thoroughly enjoyed.
We then moved onto some warm ups and had to keep getting into small groups and perform something. This eventually lead to a group workshop on how to be a Jack-in-a-box which half the group split into two and we had to watch one half be the Jack-in-a-box and we would then copy. We then had a puppeteer controlling our moves and we had to follow which created a nice visual practice.
When we had mastered the movement we then got into smaller groups to create a little performance. We added noises of representation in to each of our Jack-in-a-box. in our group we had Jack the lad, Jack of hearts and Jack of trades. Our little performance was Jack of hearts trying to seduce jack of trades where as jack the lad tried to break this up. We performed this all in the style of a Jack-in-a-box bouncing and moving in a very stiff and comedic way. We also made up our own funny little language.
After these we moved on and got into another set of groups and had to portray our own Christmas story with the props we were given. We had a white wig, and a shopping trolley. We used the wig as beard to which we then created Santa who was a hobo living in the shopping trolley. We then added a additional characters such as a reporter a child and I played a reindeer who was dumb and just sat and ate.
It was a really good workshop and we got to experiment with cabaret styles in different genres.

Evaluation of comedy sketch
In evaluation of the comedy sketch and in consideration of the feedback we got I was happy with the final outcome on what we created. The peice came across well and it got relevant laughs in the right places. I also think that the addition of the multimedia at the beginning lead nicely into our peice and crearted an extra comedy element which was visually different for the audeince to see. It added another dimention as we were seated throughour our performance on a sofa. However if we were to maybe do this project again, I think we could have added a differnt accent in as our American wasn't fluent according to the feedback. Maybe a Welsh accent could have aided the comedy of the performance by adding slightly more exagerated accents. But overall we were content with the overall outcome of the peice and it boded well as a comedy sketch.
