Lets Get Started!

So we decided that a funny way to start it was to make our own ident for the beginning and project it on the cyclorama to give a comical intro to our show and create a talk show vibe. We also over exaggerated the comedic style and added american accents.

Now To Decide On The Roles. Difficult? Not!

Chosen and Research

We all loved the sketch from reading it but watching it too gave us a great idea of how we could incorporate new idea and make it our own. For example we decided to to a live mediated performance with the use of projector bringing in the intro.

We've decided!

So after many trolling through of the scripts we finally decided on a concept. This was the Girlfriends Talk Show.

What Sketch Will Work Best?

We began to have a sift through the Saturday night Live website. We looked at many different options to try and find the best one. We wanted to find one we could tweek and change.

We first looked at these as we could change them to 3 characters but this was hard, and as we weren't very confident in creating and writing comedy we decided a script would be best to stick too.

Comedy Sketches

Our next move on the Cabaret radar is comedy sketches. When we initially got intour our group of 3 we had a really big sift through of sketches. we even thought about wirting our own however we were a little bit worried that if we did it wouldn't quite work out well.

'You really have no idea whether or not what you're writing is funny. In stand-up and sketch comedy, you know right away and you can make your changes accordingly.'  Michael Showalter.

Therefore we began to turn to the comedy genius of Saturday night live.

Emporium Feedback Of performance.

Good points:
-Laughs at the strongest parts
-Well written Lyrics
- Change from Hannah Montanna to Miley
- Good idea as she's in the limelight
- Comedic Element came out well

Critical:
- Pull the words out to make them stronger and add comedic value
- Microphones could enhance clarity
- costume could have been developed
- Props and Billie Rae could have been added

Overall in looking over our performance I believe it came across well and had a good reaction. The comedic element found in Cabaret was present and the technique of parody held the audience well. We tried to add in double standards as well which seemed to to work with the style of cabaret.
